News and Notes:

We go to a reduced format in the summer. We don't have potluck luncheons on the first Sunday of the month. The service is abbreviated too. But there is no reduction of interesting discussions in a more personal and relaxed atmosphere.

Megan spent two weeks visiting her Dad in San Angelo. Kathy "managed" until she got back.

Lois Eggleston is pretty well recovered from her broken femur and is walking with a cane. She can walk without it once she gets going, but it helps her balance.

David & Lois spent time with her son Michael and wife Melissa in Universal City, near San Antonio over the June 27 weekend. Mike & Mel closed on a very nice new house, taking advantage of $8,000 in housing market  stimulus money. David & Lois also attended the Texas State Democratic Convention in Corpus Christi that weekend. Highlights included a social event at the Texas State Aquarium and caucusing with Democrats from Senate District 31.

If you have news &/or notes to share, please email them to Bear at  swimbear@cableone.net for the newsletter and to dmeengr@sbcglobal.net for our web site. We can now make web site updates quickly and easily.

The Clan of the Frog Pond men’s group meets each Thursday evening at 8 PM at David Eggleston’s home, 1605 W. Tennessee, Midland. Men are invited to share their life experiences and feelings in a secure, supportive atmosphere following Native American tradition. For more information contact David at 352-3681, or Cliff at 550-3302.
